A doctor has revealed the he eats every day to maintain his overall , from gut health to brain function.
Dr Joseph Salhab, also known as The Stomach Doc online, has shared the morning meal he enjoys each day that benefits both his digestive system and cognitive function.
With a whopping 1.8 million followers on , Dr Salhab says he starts his day with natural probiotics found in Greek yogurt or kefir.
He said: “They’re naturally lower in lactose so it’s great if you’re lactose intolerant,” but suggested coconut or soy alternatives for those who completely avoid dairy.
“I add some berries because they help my gut bacteria thrive,” he continued, highlighting the importance of blueberries and raspberries for enhancing focus and memory. Then, the gastroenterologist includes walnuts in his meal for healthy fats.

For added health benefits, Dr Salhab recommends sprinkling cinnamon for its anti-inflammatory properties and chia seeds for omega 3, which also help prevent constipation. However, he emphasises that chia seeds should not be consumed dry.
Taking to the comments, he wrote: “Just don’t eat them dry. They soak up the water in yogurt pretty quickly. And follow with plenty of water.”
The stomach health expert concluded: “Once I have finished this great breakfast I’m ready to rock and roll and start my day and see some patients.”
Dr Salhab commended a viewer who shared her own healthy breakfast routine in the comments of his video. She detailed: “Every morning…overnight oats: oats, almond milk, protein powder, Greek yogurt, ground flaxseed and berries.”
