UK maps have revealed a bone-chilling -6C Arctic freeze could soon hammer Britain – just days after
The latest weather maps from WXCharts began turning icy blue at around 3am today as freezing air lingers high above the UK.
This bitterly cold trend continues for around 72 hours until Thursday when slightly warmer air starts sweeping across the country.
But the blast of over the coming days could send temperatures tumbling, with lows of -6C in northern Scotland at around midnight on Thursday – and just a few degrees higher in surrounding areas.

Elsewhere in the UK, the mercury could plunge to as low as 0C throughout nearly all of England and on Thursday morning, with -1C showing in small areas of and Wales.
The ‘s weather forecast for Wednesday until Friday has warned it will be colder later this week.
It says: “Rain and possibly strong winds moving across southern areas Wednesday. Otherwise becoming largely dry and settled, although rain may move into the far west at times, especially on Friday.”
Looking further ahead for the period between November 29 and December 8, the long-range weather forecast states: “Probably a quieter interlude to start this period for much of the UK as high pressure builds with a return of night frosts.

“The high is likely to migrate eastwards, however, potentially allowing some to move into some some western and northwestern areas along with some stronger winds.
“Whether these conditions edge east into other parts of the country is uncertain, but eastern areas especially may well stay drier and colder through the weekend.
“Into December, and while signals are mixed it looks most likely that high pressure may re-assert itself close to or over the UK, with temperatures generally near average, but some overnight frost is likely, and rather cold by day where any fog persists.”
