A top official from one of the LIV Golf franchises has revealed an inside scoop that players are eager to join the controversial golf series, including two high-profile players.

The trading period for LIV Golf began this month, sparking whispers about potential squad changes and signings.

A general manager spoke on condition of anonymity about the surge of interest: “Two guys that had very big offers that are now calling would love to be on [a LIV team] and said that was the worst decision they made is not accepting the offer and coming over.”

The GM admitted to a flurry of calls from players and agents: “My phone’s been ringing nonstop.”

With changes afoot since the LIV Team Championship in Dallas, there’s active interest from PGA Tour professionals and upcoming college stars about switching sides.

Bubba Watson

Reports from the  indicate that while contracts aren’t signed yet, we might expect announcements soon.

The vacant spots in the rebel league have emerged following the demotion of several players including Bubba Watson of RangeGoats and other LIV team members such as Kalle Samooja (Cleeks GC), Scott Vincent (IronHeads), Kieran Vincent (Legion XIII), and Branden Grace (Stinger).

Watson’s situation is notably different, given his status as one of the 15 captains of LIV Golf.

Despite the recent rule change that captains are no longer safe from relegation, Watson has been given the chance to pitch a business plan to LIV executives for his return to the RangeGoats roster in 2025.

Meanwhile, there are four other spots that need filling, but Samooja, Grace, and the two Vincents have the opportunity to claw their way back via LIV Promotions.

Players in the Open Zone without a contract for 2025 also face the threat of losing their spot on the LIV circuit in 2025. Two of Dustin Johnson’s 4Aces team-mates, Pat Perez and Harold Varner III, are in this precarious position, and it is reported that Johnson and his team are keen to inject some new blood into the squad.

The intriguing matter of LIV wildcards for the upcoming season remains up in the air. In 2024, Hudson Swafford and the comeback kid Anthony Kim filled the two wildcard spots.

While there has been speculation about changes to the wildcard slots, it is now believed that Kim will secure his playing rights for 2025.
