that according to royal expert Tom Quinn, the princess has a very simple code word she uses for all her children to keep them calm.

In his book Gilded Youth, An Intimate History of Growing Up in the Royal Family, Mr Quinn wrote: “When Prince Louis misbehaved at the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee for example, by sticking his tongue out at his mother, Kate’s reaction was praised by a team of expert commentators.

“She apparently used a secret code to calm the children, as she does on occasions – she simply says ‘let’s take a break’. But as a former staffer explained, the children know these few words carry far more weight than we might imagine.”

This calm approach is also used by and Princess Kate behind closed doors where they aspire to give their children as normal a childhood as possible.

It has been well-documented over the years that both William and Kate when it comes to their children, instead opting to deal with any conflicts calmly.

“She has also embraced the very modern way of dealing with children’s emotions: never shouting, making sure you listen to their complaints and tantrums, letting them express their feelings and their anger freely.”
