Netflix is set to expand its sci-fi portfolio with The Boroughs, accompanied by an exciting cast update featuring six additional actors primed to join the series.
Helmed by Stranger Things’ masterminds Matt and Ross Duffer, the upcoming show promises a riveting experience for devotees.
Transpiring within an idyllic retirement enclave in New Mexico, The Boroughs narrates the tale of a motley crew of heroes converging to thwart an extraterrestrial menace eager to pilfer the sole commodity they lack: time.
Variety has confirmed the enlistment of Rafael Casal, acclaimed from Loki, and the venerable Ed Begley Jr. , known for Young Sheldon; the pair will star alongside talents such as Jane Kaczmarek, Eric Edelstein, Dee Wallace, and Mousa Hussein Kraish.
These luminaries congregate with a stellar lineup that includes Alfred Molina of Spiderman, Geena Davis of Thelma and Louise fame, and American Horror Story’s notable Denis O’Hare, reports .

Also gracing the cast are Alfre Woodard of Clemency, Clarke Peters from The Wire, and Bill Pullman, the face of Independence Day.
Direction is under the skilled hand of Ben Taylor, renowned for Sex Education, who will execute production with the Duffer brothers and Jeffrey Addiss and Will Matthews holding the reins as showrunners.
Matt and Ross Duffer have gushed about their project, stating, “While the heroes in The Boroughs have a few more years on them than the kids from Stranger Things, they are a similarly lovable bunch of misfits, and we can’t wait for you to join them on an adventure that is at turns scary, funny, and deeply touching.”
The Duffer Brothers expressed their enthusiasm, saying: “We’ve been fans of Jeff and Will’s writing for a long time, and when they pitched us their idea for The Boroughs, we immediately knew they had something very special on their hands.”
