The Stockport pyramid has been abandoned since 2018
This building in is known for its iconic structure which replicates the famous Egyptian pyramids.
The so-called is a signature building in the area – its construction was completed in 1992.
Also known as the , it was built by developers who went into administration. The building was repossessed by The Co-operative Banking Group, who had financed the development – hence where it gets its name.
Today, plans to turn the notable building into a fine dining restaurant are in place, it will also have an area for events.
The building had fallen into disuse and recently, has been granted to remodel the huge building.

Award-winning restaurant chain the Royal Nawaab submitted plans last year to transform the pyramid into the restaurant, with space for 1,500 diners and 150 staff, as well as space to host events such as large weddings, reports .
Bosses say the restaurant would create new jobs in the town and be a huge boost to the local economy.
Plans were approved on Tuesday 14 November and the is expected to open in the first quarter of 2025.
Mahboob Hussain, of Royal Nawaab, said: “Living close to Stockport, the Pyramid has always been an iconic symbol of the town for me. It is unique and we are thrilled to be bringing Royal Nawaab Manchester.
“This is definitely not ‘a curry house’. Royal Nawaab will be a destination and will attract visitors from across the UK and beyond to experience the best cuisine in the most stunning of settings.”

Locals are – some are happy to hear the derelict building will have a new use while others would prefer to see the building used for something else other than a restaurant.
One social media user said: “Despite the negativity…it’s an improvement to what’s just lying dormant. Hopefully the positives will outweigh the negatives such as new jobs and local economy – good luck to them.”
Another social media user posted: “Great to see someone investing in creating jobs in Stockport and resurrecting this dilapidated building. Well done.”
