A royal expert has suggested that position over his tenure at may have been strengthened following a break in at Windsor Castle.
The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden was discussing the incident when he touched on the Duke of York’s tenure at Lodge and his battle to stay at the property.
Talking about the link between and on Palace Confidential, Richard Eden said: “There’s been a big question mark about security there so this is the sort of thing that would strengthen Andrew’s hand a bit when he’s asking for more help and security.”
Mr Eden’s comments were made as the saga over Andrew’s campaign to stay at continues to drag on to the end of 2024.
In recent months, there has reportedly been a tug of war between Andrew and his brother who has allegedly been attempting to move Andrew to a different location.

Whilst it originally looked as if Andrew could be about to be evicted after King Charles ceased the funding for his private security team, the Duke of York has managed to secure enough sponsorship to continue.
Speaking about anonymous donor, reporter remarked: “They’ve said that the source is legitimate but I don’t know what that means. I don’t know who this person is and also why and also for how long they make payments.
“That’s the big question. I’d say [Andrew] has won the battle… but has he won the war long term? Well depends on who this person is that’s paying.”
Despite the fact that Andrew has temporarily won a stay of execution over his presence at Royal Lodge, there are still discussions over who could replace him if or when he is eventually evicted.

According to royal commentator , Andrew could be replaced by the Prince and Princess of Wales or Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh. He said: “Royal Lodge has a high-profile history within the Royal Family.
“Bear in mind, it was the last home of Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother. So it’s traditionally been assigned to senior royals.
“The logical choice, of course, would be the Prince and Princess of Wales, but in moving home again. They seem quite content where they are. It could be the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh.”
In the meantime, allies of the Duke of York are allegedly coming together to devise a battle plan to improve how he is treated within the Royal Family with his daughters – and – playing a key role.

One royal source : “The York family have held several meetings and drawn up a battle plan. They will not allow their family to fall or come up against any more negative press.
“It’s very much a charge led by Beatrice… She’s extremely loyal and has taken the reins. Beatrice and Eugenie are rallying around to help support their father.
“Royal Lodge is viewed as a York family problem, not just an Andrew problem and the whole family are chipping in – that includes Sarah, Beatrice and Eugenie.”
