Luke Humphries faces hectic schedule before World Darts Championship

has revealed the hectic schedule that lies ahead of him before next month’s .

The reigning world champion returned to winning ways at the weekend, taking home his second consecutive Players Championship Finals title with a commanding 11-7 victory over .

Humphries had been far from his devastating best for most of the weekend, admitting after the final he’d struggled for rhythm throughout the three-day event in Minehead.

But in the head-to-head against Littler, which was a repeat of the Worlds and finals, .

It comes after a shaky second half to the season for Cool Hand Luke, who was beaten in the final of the Grand Prix earlier this year, before crashing out of the Grand Slam at the group stage.

The Players Championship win has put him back on the right track ahead of the Worlds, but even though there’s no competitive darts action between now and then, Humphries still has a hectic schedule.

Speaking after this weekend’s event, Humphries stated: “A massive day of travelling to London, four-hour day of travelling for the World Championship media day which starts tomorrow [Monday].

“Then it’s the premiere of the new Sky documentary which everyone needs to tune into. It’s going to be really good that, we’re doing the red carpet about 6pm.

“Will leave there around 8pm, go back home and we’re then full of exhibitions for about seven or eight out of 10 days. But I think it will do me good to get my eye in and play all these great players.

“Just to get myself fine-tuned for the Worlds and then I’ve got six days off, before the 15th of December we’re going to be there at the Worlds and hopefully it’s going to be good.”

It comes after Humphries revealed he’d afforded himself an unusually long break from darts after struggling for form at the Grand Slam.

In a different interview, the world No.1 said: “It has been a blur over the last 15 months when you are playing week in and week out every day.

“I didn’t pick the darts up for a full week. I put them down and thought ‘no, I am just going to take a good break from it’. Now I am refreshed and ready to go again.”

Humphries will learn his potential path to victory for the 2025 World Championship later today when the draw is completed.
