ITV I’m A Celebrity fans in disbelief over Maura Higgins’ real age

I’m A Celebrity aired a special milestone on Monday’s episode as one campmate celebrated their birthday.

During the latest episode, it was a special day in camp as it was Maura Higgins’ 34th birthday. Waking up in the jungle, she reflected: “Birthday in the jungle! This is definitely going to be one I will never, ever forget.”

Taking to Twitter, now X, viewers were left in disbelief over Maura’s age, praising her youthful looks and claiming she looked as though she’s in her 20s.

One person said: “Would never have thought Maura was 34. She looks much younger. #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity”, a different account wrote: “WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAURA IS 34?! I THOUGHT SHE WAS 26 #imacelebrity” while another added: “No way is Maura 34? She looks so much younger #imacelebrity2024 #ImACeleb #imacelebrity.”

Elsewhere, another show watcher commented: “34?! she looks mid 20s!!! #ImACeleb #ImACelebrity”, as different viewer put: “Maura is 34??!? #imaceleb #imacelebrity” while another fan added: “MAURAS 34?!?! you could tell me she’s 22 i’d believe you #imaceleb.”

Maura was a late addition to the I’m A Celebrity camp, alongside Reverend Richard Coles, last week. The duo have now joined Loose Women panellist Jane Moore, TV personality and WAG Coleen Rooney, star Alan Halsall, dancer Oti Mabuse, Radio presenter Dean McCullough, N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, boxing legend Barry McGuigan, McFly’s Danny Jones, radio DJ Melvin Odoom and sensation GK Barry.

Maura, who catapulted to fame after appearing on the fifth series of Love Island in 2019, is no stranger to living in close quarters with strangers.

Ahead of entering the jungle, she told The Mirror: “It’s been five years [since Love Island] and I think I’ve matured, but I still have a potty mouth.”

She added: “I’m still the same kind of girl but I’m not going to go in and annihilate anyone. However, if someone gets on my nerves, I’m not really one to hold it in.

“I do speak my mind. If someone patronises me, I get really irritated. Like, that’s one thing that really drives me mad.”

I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! airs every night at 9pm on ITV1, STV and ITV X.
