Dean has been voted to do six trials so far
Former star Gillian McKeith has come to the defence of radio presenter Dean McCullough after he faced gruelling trials in the jungle.
The 32-year-old radio presenter’s latest trial saw him team up with Coleen Rooney, and together they successfully won nine stars for camp. However, during last night’s episode, it was announced that Dean would be facing the dreaded Jack and the Scream Stalk.
Fans quickly expressed their frustration online, with some calling for him to be axed from the show. But Gillian has stood by Dean as she told The Express: “I don’t want to hear any nonsense about it not being fair that Dean is getting all the trials. He is genuinely scared and unfortunately, the viewers vote for celebs who squirm. So before you roll your eyes or diss Dean, think about it for a minute.
“The trials are no joke with everything that crawls from snakes to scary spiders. Most folks would not last two minutes.

Gillian has lashed out at fans who called for Dean McCullough to be axed from the series
“Give Dean some credit as he is trying and doing better every day. He shows up. Fear is fear. Phobias are real and there’s no escape in the jungle. A little respect please. Dean is proving himself and that is what the jungle is all about.
Dean has faced a string of critters and reptiles, including crickets, snakes, spiders, green ants, and cockroaches.
While attempting to earn stars for camp, he has been extremely vocal, screaming in fear while trying his best. Dean also previously faced a trial with fan favourite and McFly star Danny Jones.
After he was voted to do another trial on Sunday, fans vented their frustration on X, with one person writing: “I’m rather getting bored now with Dean constantly doing the trials #imacelebrity.”
Fans have threatened to switch off
A second person wrote: “So bored of seeing Dean do the trials. give someone else a go #imacelebrity” (sic). A third viewer chimed in: “Stop voting for Dean. Let someone else do a trial for once #imacelebrity.”
Meanwhile, some fans previously expressed that the radio star had been in trials.
One person said: “Can no one else tell that dean is being fake? can we stop voting him for trials pls it’s literally what he wants the public to do for more screen time #ImACeleb #imacelebrity.” (sic)
Someone else wrote: “Why is he acting shocked when he’s picked? He’s got to know why he’s been voted .. so fake #imaceleb.” (sic)
Another commented: “#ImACeleb my main problem with Dean is that one second he’s screaming the next he’s calm as anything.. just comes across all fake and staged.” (sic)
