Anne, AKA The Governess, has confessed to struggles when it comes to her personal life and maintaining romantic relationships, as she struggles letting anyone into her personal space. After being diagnosed with aged 45, Anne says her longest relationship lasted four months.

But her Wikipedia page used to tell a different story entirely. The page stated she was married to a man called Jake Hester – who Anne thinks must exist somewhere.

Opening up about the strange page vandalism during her stint on in 2018, Anne said: “I used to go into my page to change things like where I was born and my hometown, but I’ve stopped bothering now.

“It still claims I’m married to someone called Jake Hester! I seriously don’t know who he is.”

: “He’s out there somewhere. My brother didn’t help because he said to me, ‘I want to meet this guy’. I’m like, ’No! This is not somebody I know.’”

Anne told us: “I imagine he exists. It’s too odd a name to make up. I imagine he exists and he’s out there somewhere. Either he vandalised the page or somebody he knows did.”

Now the personal life section on her page simply reads: “Hegerty lives in . She is a practising Catholic. She is autistic, which was not diagnosed until 2003 when she was 45.

“In 2022, she featured on the ITV programme DNA Journey, when it was revealed that she is of Irish and Scottish descent, and is both a descendant of Robert the Bruce and a distant relative of Elizabeth II.”

Anne’s longest relationship only lasted four months as she was living in Manchester while her boyfriend resided in Brighton. She said: “He was a lovely bloke but I am just not good with the sort of amount of attention that people need.”

She told OK! magazine: “I fall in love with historical or fictional characters. People I can put a bit of distance between.”
