Jane Moore is currently in the Australian jungle
Jane Moore, a familiar face on British television and a staple of Loose Women since its inception in 1999, is more than just a popular ITV panelist and celebrity in the Australian jungle.
Born in Oxford in 1962 to an academic father and a mother who juggled secretarial work with teaching, Jane’s life took a turn when her parents divorced and she lost contact with her father.
Raised by her mother in her godparents’ council house, Jane shared some poignant memories from her childhood on Loose Women. She recalled how her godparents’ sons, both army men, would take her along to their training camps during summer holidays.
“I would have been 10 or 11 at the time. You know when they train to take injured people off the mountain, they’d put me on the stretcher, I’d be the dummy and they’d be lowering me off mountains. ,” Jane reminisced. She added: “They were kind of like my male role models cause I didn’t have a dad and they really looked after me. They were fantastic. They were about 13 years older than I was.”
As a child, Jane won second place in Miss Pears, a contest to find a young brand ambassador, and used her £500 prize money to embark on a world cruise with her mum to visit her grandfather in Australia.
After attending state school, Jane completed her sixth form at Worcester Grammar School for Girls, reports .
She was passionate about acting and was accepted into the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. However, due to financial constraints, she couldn’t attend the drama school.

From the age of 11, Jane had always dreamt of becoming a journalist, so she decided to pursue this career path instead.
Despite her school’s attempts to dissuade her, suggesting journalism was a male-dominated field, the now 59 year old defied the odds and studied journalism at the South Glamorgan Institute of Higher Education in Cardiff.
In 1981, she honed her skills at the Solihull News before landing a full-time role at the Birmingham Post and Birmingham Mail.
After stints as an investigations reporter at the Sunday People and a launch news editor at Sunday Sport, Jane made history in 1987 when she became the first female editor of The Sun’s Bizarre showbiz column.
Feeling burnt out, she left after a year and took up a position as a sales negotiator at Townends estate agency.
Returning to her true calling, she secured a role at Today newspaper in 1989 and then moved to the Daily Mirror in 1993.

Shortly thereafter, Jane began writing a column for the Sun, a role she continues to this day.
Making her mark on television, Jane has presented on numerous shows including This Morning, , The Andrew Marr Show, This Week, Breakfast and The Wright Stuff.
Despite leaving in 2002 and returning in 2013, Jane is also a founding panellist on ITV’s popular lunchtime chat show, Loose Women.
In addition to her media work, she’s penned several books such as Fourplay, The Ex Files and The Second Wives Club.
Jane exchanged vows with Gary Farrow, the ex-vice-president of communications at Sony Music Entertainment, in 2002, with none other than standing by as the best man.
In a candid chat with The Guardian, the columnist admitted: “Yes, I think you are probably right. I would hold my hand up to that. But then again what I won’t do is praise them.”
She further clarified her stance on commenting about her husband’s clientele stating, “I won’t go ‘Ooh isn’t Elton’s new album marvellous’. It would be very awkward for me to write something dreadful about one of my husband’s clients. What kind of wife would I be if I went around doing things like that? “.
Gary heads The Corporation Group, a firm in the public relations sector.
The union has been blessed with three daughters, among them Ellie, Grace, and step-daughter Lauren.
Adding a bundle of joy to the family narrative, Lauren welcomed a baby girl coinciding with Gary’s birthday, earning Jane the affectionate moniker ‘Nana Jane’.
