A hero dad had to carry his 11-month-old baby out of a sinking car as brings flooding and brutal weather conditions across the UK.
In a post on social media, the child’s terrified mum Paige Newsome shared a photo of the vehicle submerged in Todmorden, West .
Her partner Andre Randles managed to get out of his Volkswagen hatchback with the infant as floodwaters gushed in, she explained.
“[It was] such a scary experience for Andre having to pull himself and our 11-month-old baby out of the car windows, whilst the water was flooding into the car,” Paige wrote in the post.
She also called on the council to take action, claiming the road has been a hazard during times of heavy rain for years.

Paige called on Calderdale Council to take action over the section of road.
“Calderdale Council need to sort this out ASAP! They have been getting notified about this part of Woodhouse Road multiple times by the owners of the house next to where our car is parked,” she added.
A fellow up post showed the car almost completely submerged with the water up to the top of the windows, which Paige was how it looked when the pair escaped to safety.
Paige said Andre had driven into the flooded road because as it looked like shallow water but was left stranded by a sudden dip, reports.
After pulling the baby out of the window Andre and the child were taken in by locals, who Paige said she couldn’t thank enough for their kindness.

Calderdale Council has been approached for comment.
