England had lost five straight matches before beating Japan
got back to winning ways and alleviated some pressure on under-fire head coach by scoring nine tries to thrash ‘ Japan 59-14 at Twickenham on Sunday evening.
England snapped a five-match losing streak in the process as they ended the Autumn Nations Series on more of a positive note after losing to New Zealand, Australia and South Africa before this.
They started strong and scored five first-half tries through Ben Earl, Sam Underhill, a Jamie George double and Ollie Sleightholme.
While Japan scrum-half Naoto Saito pulled one back for Japan, a George Furbank try helped restore a healthy advantage thanks to a brilliant offload from Tommy Freeman.
Hooker Luke Cowan-Dickie, who replaced captain George at half-time, then scored two second-half tries before Tom Roebuck capped off the rout.

George Martin – Quiet this autumn for a man touted as the next Martin Johnson and didn’t make mark 6
Tom Curry – Shouldn’t have been playing after recent concussions but somehow went the distance. Needs a week off 6
Sam Underhill – Best player last week against South Africa but only lasted 14 minutes after being injured scoring 6
Ben Earl – Cut a great line to open the scoring for England and lively for the whole 80 7
