Dreaming of a white Christmas may be more of a reality for most with Omio, the global travel booking platform, predicting where in the UK it is guaranteed to experience a sprinkle of snow.

Alongside which region is guaranteed to catch some snowflakes, the booking platform also revealed the best mode of transport when it comes to travellers wanting to reach their wintry destination with some prices starting as little as £3.

According to Omio, the region in the UK that offers guaranteed snow this Christmas is Inverness in Scotland.

are known to be both crisp or wet, with temperatures often dropping to freezing levels.

Based in the Scottish Highlands, the city of Inverness has the perfect scenery for a festive trip and is expected to get some flurries of snow in November and December.

Inverness has been described as a compact city that’s easily accessible via walking and is an ideal base for exploring the Highlands.

The region is home to a number of wonderful sights to behold including River Ness, Inverness Castle, St. Andrews Cathedral and the busy Victorian Market.

“Visited Inverness and fell in love with the city in a big way,” wrote one review on TripAdvisor, adding: “Very relaxing, extremely beautiful and a lovely way to take your mind off the rigours of life.

Another added: “Inverness is a lovely city and one of its highlights has to be this picturesque river with its bridges crossing.

The praise didn’t end there with another review chiming in: “We didn’t have much time in Inverness, but we are glad that our time included a walk along the river, which has a beautiful view of the city and bridges.”

Omio found the cheapest travel option to Inverness was by coach with prices starting at only £3 for a journey, depending on where you’ll be travelling from within the UK.

The budget-friendly coach option from London takes around 12 and a half hours to get to Inverness and is a cost-effective means of travel with prices starting from £28.

There are also frequent train journeys to Inverness from destinations across the UK too, with prices starting from as little as £9 and rising to £54 if you’re travelling from London.

According to Omio, other regions in Europe guaranteed to experience snow include Helsinki in Finland, Oslo in Norway, Reykjavik in Iceland and Vienna in Austria.
