David Mitchell’s wife Victoria Coren Mitchell extended an offer out of the blue to star
On Saturday (November 23), the blind comedian once again took to the ballroom with his professional partner Dancing the Paso Doble, the pair received a score of 33 – with two nines from the judges.
Over on X, Only Connect host Victoria was taken aback by the apparent sensuality of the performance, tweeting: “Look, I am a happily married woman. But I’m finding @chrismccausland very sexy in the Paso Doble.
“And YES. I DID copy in his screen name. Just so he knows, Chris, if it all goes wrong…” she joked.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the cheeky exchange, as one said: “Very sexy. Well groomed as well!” Another agreed: “I’ll have David then!” And somebody else joked: “David is switching your bookmarks around as you type…”

Victoria Coren Mitchell had a cheeky offer for one Strictly star
Victoria tied the knot with Peep Show star David in 2012, in a low-key church wedding at St Peter’s Church in Belsize Park. The Would I Lie To You panellist previously feared he’d never find love, admitting: “I’ve never had a significant relationship other than her.
“I had one sort of two-month relationship with someone else and the odd one-night-stand kind of thing over the years but nothing serious at all. I thought that I’d probably be destined to be single, but it was very clear to me when I met Victoria that this was different… it was a long wait, but it was very easy, it was clear.”
David and Victoria welcomed daughter Barbara in 2015 and a second child, June, in 2023 – but tend to keep their private life out of the spotlight.
She branded Chris ‘very sexy’
Chris, meanwhile, has been happily loved up with his own wife Patricia, who he met 20 years ago. The pair share a daughter, Sophie. He even sought Sophie’s advice before signing up for Strictly.
He revealed: “I showed my 10-year-old daughter a clip of the show and asked her if I should do it. ‘No, Daddy,’ she said. ‘You’ll fall off the stage and break your leg.’ She’s a joker at heart, but she’s got a point.”
