Mr Tamlyn also pointed out that “strategically placing houseplants, such as peace lilies naturally help regulate moisture”.

Even running the extractor fans in bathrooms and kitchens can be useful in reducing moisture levels in the home that increase the risk of condensation.

“Running the bathroom extractor fan for 20-30 minutes during and after a shower will really help to prevent moisture buildup,” said Mr Tamlyn.

“Insulating your home properly and ensuring heating is evenly distributed can also make a big difference.”

As for the quick step that removes moisture without opening the window, all you need to do is get into the habit of wiping down the windows in the morning.

“Wipe down windows and any damp surfaces regularly to avoid build-up,” said Mr Tamlyn. “Small steps and good habits go a long way in protecting your home from mould growth.”
