Louis Tomlinson makes heartbreaking gesture hours after Liam Payne funeral

star Louis Tomlinson made a poignant gesture just hours after attending the funeral of his bandmate

after falling from his hotel balcony in Buenos Aires. His former bandmates – Louis, Niall Horan, Harry Styles and Zayn Malik – attended the funeral alongside his former partner and boss

But just hours later, Louis turned up for the Grenfell community, donating his beloved Doncaster Rovers FC shirt to Grenfell Athletic’s Fabric of the Community project.

Louis headed over to support the initiative after attending Liam’s funeral at St Mary’s Church in Amersham, Buckinghamshire.

The project is aiming to weave community stories into the football club’s identity by contributing fabric samples, which will be stitched around the Grenfell Athletic logo on football shirts. It also includes materials salvaged from the 2017

Louis explained: “Wherever I am in the world and I have my Doncaster Rovers FC shirt with me, it reminds me of home.

“When I am touring and I see a member of the audience wearing one, I get a real feeling of home, no matter where I am.”

Grenfell Athletic was founded in 2017 as a response to the fire, with founder Rupert Taylor explaining: “Our club was born out of a desire to heal and bring our community ever closer through the power of football.

“We hope the project offers an additional avenue for healing and a platform for showing how inspirational our community truly is.

“The hearts and souls of the people of Grenfell are woven into Grenfell Athletic’s DNA, and now they’ll be woven into the club’s shirts, too.”

Louis also recorded vocals for the Grenfell fire charity single in 2017, with Simon Cowell bringing artists together to sing Bridge Over Troubled Water. His late bandmate Liam also joined in on the track.
