Radio DJ Melvin Odoom might just be “playing up to the cameras” on , according to his friend who spilled the beans on his dating antics.

The 44-year-old, currently gracing our screens on the hit show, has won over audiences. However, his admission of a celebrity crush on Countdown icon has raised some eyebrows among fans.

Discussing his romantic endeavours on ITV’s Lorraine, Melvin’s good mate and radio co-host Rickie Haywood-Williams, along with Melvin’s sister Yonah Odoom, divulged details about the jungle favourite’s history with the ladies.

In a quest for juicy details, stand-in host Ranvir Singh pressed Rickie on whether Melvin is as charming off-screen.

She inquired: “OK, boy to boy, does he have any rizz?”

Referencing a moment from the show, she added: “Because he was trying out this chat up line potentially on Tulisa like Tulisa was trying to do the maths.

“She was trying to be Carol and he tried to go over to her and they were like, ‘No, you’re rubbish.’ What is his chat like? Is he good with girls?” she persisted.

Rickie responded: “You know what, I think he was playing up to the camera a little bit, because Melvin is all about dates, he loves the art of dating. So I think he was playing up to the campmates there because Melvin is very smooth.”

“He’s very, very smooth. He’s a smooth operator,” revealed the fellow radio personality.

Ranvir was keen to delve into Carol’s recent social media kerfuffle, probing the reason his biography got cheekily altered to “Vorderman to be.”

Revealing she was the mastermind behind the witty switch, sister Yonah chimed in with her take on how Melvin would react to encountering Carol emerging from the jungle, reports .

Yonah exclaimed: “That would be amazing. If Carol went out, I think he would literally faint.”

She went on: “When Melvin bumped into her before, he was actually very nervous; he couldn’t get any game words out.”

Yonah then took the opportunity to update Ranvir and those watching from home on Melvin’s current romantic standing, confirming he is “very single” right now.
