Claire Sweeney hinted at upcoming turmoil for Cassie during an appearance on on Friday.

The GMB host branded Claire a tease, but the soap star was quick to make it clear that shes not looking to be written out of the drama, expressing her adoration for the show.

Claire did admit that theres plenty more excitement to come in the plot, revealing: “What’s funny about Cass is that people are just starting to like her.”

She elaborated on her character’s interactions with Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson), saying: “She had all the flirtations with Steve McDonald and suddenly… This is what I said to Kate, our producer, and she said, ‘She can’t help herself’.

“Everything is about survival with Cassie, and this is about surviving and keeping her job, and she also really likes Steve as well. So, it’s not the end it’s going to go on for a while.”

In conversation with the television hosts, she also mentioned her on-screen son Alan Halsall’s stint in the camp.

Praising his qualities, she said: “Isn’t he wonderful? I know Maureen Lipman came on here and she said he’ll start off quietly just watch and observe and then he’ll come forward.

“That’s what he’ll do, he’s brilliant Alan, he’s such a funny guy. He’s smart, he’s sensitive, he’s a really brilliant personality.”

Despite observations about Alan’s quiet demeanor, Claire countered: “In the first episode he wasn’t quiet because he had the big trial with Tulisa and he really shone in that didn’t he? He’s sitting back at the moment. I think he will, he needs more airtime.”
