Insiders have finally revealed what the late really thought of after she met , reports have claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and it wasn’t long before the former Suits actress met her future husband’s Royal Family and their head – the late Queen.
The couple opened up about Meghan’s first meeting with the late monarch, , Harry & Meghan. The special moment took place at Royal Lodge in October 2016, just a year before the couple got engaged.
Meghan said: “There wasn’t like some big moment of, ‘now you’re going to meet my grandmother’. I didn’t know I was going to meet her until moments before. We were in the car and we were going to Royal Lodge for lunch, and he’s like, ‘Oh, my grandmother’s here, we’re going to meet her after church’. And I remember we were in the car driving up and he’s like, ‘You know how to curtsy, right?’ And I just thought it was a joke.”
Now, the ‘s Richard Eden said that courtiers claimed that Elizabeth had found Meghan to be a “breath of fresh air and a great asset” to the monarchy.

In his latest column, he wrote about how the late monarch warmly welcomed ‘s wife into the royal fold, with an “unprecedented and highly personal gesture” after she invited her to join the royals at Sandringham for Christmas in 2017, just months before their wedding.
Only people who were married into the Royal Family would usually join the Firm on Christmas until then.
The same year, the late Queen also spoke about “new members” of the family in her Christmas broadcast, which was widely thought to be a nod to Meghan.
However, Elizabeth began having concerns about Meghan’s behaviour and attitude the closer it got to the couple’s wedding in 2018, according to the outlet.
The late monarch was said to be surprised after Meghan rejected her suggestion that Duchess Sophie guide her on marrying into the Royal Family and was also “taken aback” at her choice of a bridal gown, as well as her attitude towards the tiara.
The Mail claims that staff were of the opinion that the duchess “may not have wanted to make a success of her life in Britain” when she started working as a royal and appeared to be “actively seeking reasons to be unhappy or resentful”.

The couple’s relationship with the royals continued to deteriorate until they quit the Firm in 2020 and moved to the US.
Following their bombshell interviews after their departure, the late Queen was thought to have been particularly “upset” over their explosive claims against the royals.
In his memoir Spare, released in January 2023, months after Elizabeth’s passing, Harry wrote about his grandmother: “I’ll forever support my Queen, my Commander in Chief, my Granny. Even after she’s gone.
“My problem has never been with the monarchy, nor the concept of monarchy. It’s been with the press and the sick relationship that’s evolved between it and the Palace.
“I love my Mother Country, and I love my family, and I always will. I just wish, at the second-darkest moment of my life, they’d both been there for me. And I believe they’ll look back one day and wish they had too.”
