The produced some major news on Friday with reports stating that ‘s F1 entry for the 2026 season has taken a significant step forward.

Recently, news broke that Michael Andretti has stepped back from his position at the head of Andretti Global’s operations into a background role, and according to a report from the , this has increased the team’s chances of securing a spot in F1.

Dan Towriss – the new majority owner of Andretti – was present in the Las Vegas Grand Prix paddock. Also present was the FBI amid a Department of Justice investigation into the decision to reject the team’s initial entry proposal.

The AP report states that talks between Towriss, F1 and FOM are progressing well and an agreement could be reached as early as the next few weeks.

However, what is unsure is how the team will be branded moving forward. With the Andretti name unlikely to carry over and Cadillac’s power units pushed back until 2028 at the earliest, General Motors would have interesting decisions to make.
