Weather forecast: Caribbean plume hits Britain in days in 15C increase to see ice melt

A Caribbean plume is set to hit Britain with ice to melt in the 15C heat blast.

WXCharts has forecast that temperatures will spike this weekend (November 24) after days of snow and ice across the UK.

Saturday (November 23) will see cold weather continue, with temperatures hitting as low as -7C in parts of the UK. North Scotland (Aberdeen, Inverness) will be the coldest, with lows of between -2C and -7C.

South Scotland (Edinburgh, Dumfries) will see temperatures of between 1C and -1C, while the rest of the UK will stay above minus temperatures.

Temperatures in England, Wales and Northern Ireland will drop as low as between 0C and 2C, with some areas (Plymouth, Swansea) increasing to 4C or 7C.

But this will all change on Sunday (November 24), with temperatures not set to go below 0C anywhere in the country. It will be coldest in north Scotland, but warmer than Saturday from 1C to 6C.

South Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland will see highs from 7C to 11C. The north of England, East Anglia and the south of England will be warmest, all set to sit between 13C and 15C in a rise in hours from 0C temperatures.

The said of the period: “Turning wet and windy for all on Saturday, with some hill snow initially, and blustery showers on Sunday and Monday. Milder on Saturday and Sunday but cooler again into Monday.”

Wintry and blustery showers continue in the north of the UK, but drier with clear skies further south, and a widespread frost developing away from any coasts.

Friday:

Another frosty and in places icy start on Friday with sunshine and wintry showers continuing in exposed areas. Showers and winds gradually easing through the afternoon.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Turning wet and windy for all on Saturday, with some hill snow initially, and blustery showers on Sunday and Monday. Milder on Saturday and Sunday but cooler again into Monday.
