The Food Standards Agency said: “These products may contain pieces of copper which makes them unsafe to eat.

“If you have bought the above products do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”

The supermarket said the presence of salmonella was found during routine testing.

Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps.

Tesco said: “If you have purchased any of the affected date codes of the above product, please do not eat it.”

The affected batch code use-by date is November 24, 2024.

Customers are urged to return the item to any supermarket for a full refund and no receipt is required.

Tesco reassured customers that no other products are affected by this issue.
