fans have been left stunned by the small portions of beans the campmates have to survive on.

On the show’s official , fans quizzed hosts Ant and Dec about the daily rations, particularly how much rice and beans the contestants are given. The hosts shared a glimpse of the tiny portions, revealing it’s what each campmate gets per day – not per meal.

The reactions came flooding in. “That’s why they’re all so skinny when they come out!” one fan said. Another commented: “I’d eat that just for breakfast. No wonder they get grumpy.” A third confessed: “I thought that was per meal, not per day!” A fourth person raged: “That is so cruel.”

This week’s episode saw podcast host GK Barry and radio DJ Dean McCullough fail to win any stars during their challenge, meaning they returned to camp empty-handed, leaving the campmates without a good meal.

Don’t miss…

At the end of last night’s episode, two new campmates were introduced to viewers, ex-Love Island star Maura Higgins and Reverend Richard Coles. According to the hosts confirmed that the pair would join a separate camp, where they would take on a secret mission.

Maura is in Australia after jetting straight in following a boozy, blow-out in Las Vegas. “Honestly, I’m not good….I feel like I’m in The Hangover, I’ve even got the shakes,” she admitted.

“I have no clue what time it is, I don’t know where I am. In fact, I’ve done the opposite of preparing myself [for the jungle]. I’ve tried not to think about it, because when I think about it, I get so much anxiety.”

Opening up ahead of her stint, Maura said she didn’t want to disappoint anyone. “I just don’t want to let people down, because everyone’s been DMing me, saying ‘Oh my God, I hope you’re doing the show.’” she went on to add. “I don’t want to back out of the trials and be the biggest wimp in the camp.”

Meanwhile, 62-year-old Richard says he is worried about his snoring and “everybody wanting to kill me because I keep them awake at night.” He added: “I am also worried about finding a fear I didn’t know I had yet and going to pieces on television in front of a koala or wombat or something.”
