Stephen Mulhern was visably impressed these evening as a player on revealed his “winning” strategy. The ITV host welcomed to the hot seat this evening (November 21) in another brand new episode.

The player was ready and rearing to go to and hopefully bag himself a big cash prize. As always he had to choose boxes to be opened with each one revealing a different amount.

Contestants are hopeful that blue, lower amounts, would be opened first – increasing their chances of taking home a higher amount.

Before starting his gameplay Luke shared that he had a very specific strategy to the game. He admitted: “I did have a game plan but I don’t know how it’s going to go.

“So I’m going to give it a go for the first five [boxes]. And then if it’s not working, I’m just going to go with my gut instinct.”

Intrigued, Stephen asked: “Can you explain, very quickly, what is the game plan?” The contestant replied: “So, symmetry basically. I’m just going to try and match the holes.”

The ITV presenter was clearly impressed as he said: “Oh! Ok. That’s never been done.” Luke responded: “No, that’s why I thought I’d give it a go but I’m now second guessing myself. Let’s see.”

However, later in the game, Luke made yet another move that Stephen had “never seen” before as his strategy seemed to go out of the window a bit.

The player asked the box holders: “I’m going to do something a bit random. Does anybody want to be picked next?”

Stephen exclaimed: “Oh! Do you know what? I have never heard anybody ask that. Does anybody want to help him out? Just say ‘pick me’.”

A number of the box holders threw their hands in the air, eager to get their turn “over with”. Dori, who had had 10 red boxes on the trot, was who Luke eventually went with.

Breaking her unlucky streak she revealed her number to be £750 – a blue box.

Moving on to the next box, Luke decided to “stick to his symmetry”.
