The offer is open to all
British Gas is enticing customers with a £65 offer for those who make a change soon. The deal, available to both new and existing customers, applies to anyone purchasing an eligible Samsung appliance between now and February 2025.
The cash will be credited to their British Gas account, whether they’re an existing customer or a new one. As winter approaches and energy price cap increases loom in January, this offer could provide some relief.
Customers purchasing refrigerators, washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, ovens, or TVs from participating retailers will receive varying credit amounts. To claim, customers must visit the British Gas website with their purchase details.
The credit amount is based on the average annual electricity usage of various appliances, according to British Gas. Since the beginning of the year, Samsung has been collaborating with British Gas to optimise energy usage.
This includes integrating Samsung’s Smart Things app with the British Gas PeakSave programme. British Gas claims that Samsung’s AI home appliances are ideally suited to benefit from PeakSave and reward customers for shifting their electricity usage to times when more renewable energy is readily available.
So far, British Gas has paid more than £15million to 650,000 customers participating in the scheme.
Catherine O’Kelly, Managing Director of British Gas Energy, said: “We’re committed to finding new ways to help our customers make savings and manage their home energy usage. We’re running this offer in the lead-up to Christmas and during New Year sales, as we know it’s a popular time for purchasing new appliances.”
She highlighted the benefits of energy efficiency and said: “A new fridge or washing machine will often be more energy efficient and our customers will get money they can put towards their electricity bill. This latest offer is the next step in our ongoing collaboration with Samsung, and together, we will bring more innovative solutions to help people be smarter with their energy usage around the home.”
Dan Barfield, Marketing Director of Digital Appliances at Samsung UK and Ireland, said: “This is an exciting step forwards for our partnership with British Gas. Customers can now benefit from upgrading their home appliances so they can utilise our market-leading technology and features as well as help drive efficiencies within their home energy costs.”
The promotion tempts buyers with handsome credits: those purchasing a fridge will receive £65, while a new washing machine comes with a £35 credit. Tumble dryers and dishwashers come with a £55 credit, single ovens offer a £30 saving, and TVs carry a £40 credit.
Available on selected appliances until February 28, 2025, from participating retailers, eligible customers must make their claim by March 31, 2025. For full details, visit the .
