couldn’t help but highlight the outfit one guest had chosen to wear on the red sofa. During Thursday’s show, the host spoke to Patrick Evans and Abi Thomas who both worked on David Attenborough’s new series, Asia.
The show gives people a glimpse into animal behaviours in the wild, all captured by drones. viewers got to see a snippet of the programme before it cut back to Charlie and in the studio.
However, the star wasted no time in pointing out Patrick’s jumper. He commented: “Patrick, can I just say, it’s obvious you’ve gone early with the festive jumper.”
Although it seemed as though Nina was all for the seasonal celebrations as she could be heard saying: “Love it!”
Looking at his jumper, which was blue and white with snowflakes and reindeer on the front, the director confessed it was a bit ‘out there’.
Charlie was quick to highlight their guest’s fetive jumper
He added: “Yeah, well it’s quite Christmassy out there. I don’t know if you’ve noticed with the weather this morning. So, I thought it was appropriate.”
Charlie replied: “Oh I see! So you’ve gone with the weather? Well done by the way, well done for going for it, it’s a first!”
The director of the documentary laughed at Charlie’s response before delving more into the new series.
Cinematographer Abi Thomas highlighted how the use of technology has allowed them to get extremely close to the tigers shown in the programme.
The guest’s Christmas jumper was quickly discussed during the show
She said: “This is what is so unique about this particular sequence, so I don’t think anyone has filmed tigers with drones before.
“It allowed us really unique access into their world and a really unique perspective into their behaviour and what they do on a day-to-day basis.”
Speaking more about the technology used, Abi shared the drone has three lenses which allow them to have different perspectives and get close to the animals while remaining far away themselves.
While Charlie tried to wrap up the interview, it was clear Nina took an interest in one of the drones Patrick and Abi brought in.
Nina was in awe over the technology
He could be heard saying: “Stop playing-“
Nina confessed: “I can’t get over the quality! Honestly.”
Abi asked the host if she wanted to learn how to fly it and Nina eagerly agreed.
Charlie added: “Abi made a bold claim earlier on, she said she thought she could fly it out the small doorway and out of the studio.”
Patrick chimed in agreeing with Abi’s claim although Nina confessed their floor manager was shaking her head, telling them not to go ahead with the plan.
