On December 9, the 36-year-old was charged with “being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs,” but she denied any involvement when she appeared at Westminster Magistrates Court.

However, her trial, scheduled for July 14, 2014, was dismissed after it came to light that journalist Mazher Mahmood, known as the “fake sheikh” had lied to the court.

During a recent episode of the show, Tulisa confided in Oti Mabuse about the toll the trial and allegations took on her and her career.

“2013 was the year I was set up by a British newspaper, for concern in the selling of class A drugs,” she revealed, reports .

Tulisa went on to explain: “The guy’s name was Mahmood and basically, I was approached by a big movie company and they sent me a tweet or a DM from their official account to audition me for a movie role. I’d dabbled in acting, so this opportunity for me was huge.”

She disclosed that she had been offered £3.5 million for the role and had meetings in Las Vegas with the producers, having been flown out first class.

“Oh no, I found out it was a lie,” Tulisa confessed to Oti, debunking the authenticity of the case.

“So I was told, as I wasn’t an actress, I was less likely to get the role and the only reason I would get it is if I was the girl in the role, and the girl in the role was this bad girl from London who was constantly up to naughtiness, rolling with gangs, up to all kinds of naughty stuff.”

Tulisa continued, alleging that the meetings stretched “on for months” with her being strung along as part of the elaborate ruse.

She detailed how those behind the supposed film project claimed they needed to procure illegal substances.

“After months and months, eventually they got a number and it was of someone that wasn’t even a drug dealer,” she unveiled, noting: ”It was an aspiring movie producer and I wanted to make a hook up as well for that person, but I didn’t know anyone that could do that.”

Tulisa then recounted how the group had requested £800 worth of cocaine using the contact she had inadvertently provided.

“Before I knew it, I was being arrested on the concern of selling Class A drugs and I was facing four years in prison I lost all my endorsements, my life fell apart,” she lamented.

It was during the trial that Tulisa realised she had been covertly recorded during an exchange with one of the drivers linked to Mahmood, where she expressed her strong stance against drugs.

The driver, initially set to testify, altered his testimony affecting Tulisa’s expectations which gravitated toward anticipating a custodial sentence.

When journalist Mazher Mahmood faced trial, he refuted all charges yet received a 15-month sentence for perverting the course of justice.

This turn of events saw the driver conceding to Tulisa’s attorneys and acknowledging a previous discussion on her stance concerning drugs.

Former Strictly star Oti Mabuse afterwards expressed admiration for Tulisa’s resilience: “You can see that there’s a strength in her, there’s just an amazing woman, that every time you knock her down, she’s going to come back fighting.”
