Fans were left reeling from announcement last week that she would be undergoing surgery due to a brain tumour.
The television host broke the news on her social media on the day she was set for surgery. Now, following her stint in intensive care to recuperate from the operation, the esteemed judge has divulged the unnerving words her doctor conveyed to her before the procedure.
During an episode of the Making the Cut podcast, which she presents with her partner Michael Douglas before her surgery, Davina recounted her meeting with a neurosurgeon who “showed me my brain”, calling it “the weirdest thing ever”.
She shared: “He pointed it out to me that it [the tumour] is right in the middle of my brain.”
Davina went on to explain the rarity of colloid cysts, mentioning that they affect only three people per million. These cysts are tiny chambers filled with fluid located in or near the lateral and third ventricles of the brain.

Davina McCall reveals doctors chilling words about brain tumour.
She detailed further: “He [the doctor] said, ‘I’d like for you to talk to another neurosurgeon to discuss whether you need surgery, just to be sure’.
“So I saw this other surgeon and brought a doctor along because I’m like, ‘I don’t really get what you’re telling me’.
“They can’t outright tell you to have the surgery, presumably to avoid liability if anything goes awry. But he told me, ‘It’s big’.”
She disclosed that medical professionals consider a colloid cyst to be large at anything around 10mm. “Mine was 14mm,” she shared.

“The point being, with mine being 14mm, is that it fills the space and has nowhere to grow and if it grows it can then cause Hydrocephalus and that’s water on the brain.”
Davina confessed that she initially thought they were suggesting its removal before they explained the surgical procedure. She sought a second opinion from another doctor who recommended a craniotomy as the best course of action.
She referred to it as a “big deal” and announced her intention to take a two-month break post-surgery – and even plans to learn a song to serenade her partner at Christmas.
“I’m ready,” she declared during the recording, which was made two days prior to her operation.
Following her surgery, an update revealed that the star of The My Mum, Your Dad remained in ICU after her operation on the “very rare” tumour. Davina’s boyfriend, Michael, provided an update to her fans on Monday, reassuring them of her positive progress.
He penned: “Update- Mega progress these last 24 hours.”
“Massive relief to see some light breaking through. Thanks for all the good vibes coming in from all angles. Up and Up. Thanks so much to all the well wishers.
“She really has made an enormous leap forward in the last 24 hours. She is out of ICU. She is ‘loving awareness’. Thank you xx – Michael.”
