On Sunday night, he took to the stage to host a special comedy gig for Absolute Radio, aiming to raise funds for The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital Charity at the iconic Palladium.

Recently, during a live episode, Matt opened up about his challenging journey with At 42 years old, he faced a life-altering diagnosis when doctors discovered a tumour that required drastic intervention.
In a complex surgical procedure, the lower section of his spine was surgically removed, a decision that fundamentally changed his life. The aftermath of this surgery was incredibly challenging, as he had to relearn basic movements, including walking, while also adjusting to life with a stoma bag.
Reflecting on his journey, Matt shared, “Just over a year ago, while I was performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, I experienced excruciating pain in my leg. At first, I assumed it was due to a slipped or swollen disc, completely unaware of the far more serious condition that was affecting my body.”
“I underwent an MRI scan, and when the results came back, I received the life-altering diagnosis of cancer. In that moment, a wave of uncertainty washed over me as I grappled with the terrifying thought of not knowing how much time I had left to live. Fortunately, I’m grateful to share that I’ve made a remarkable recovery.”
