I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! star Coleen Rooney has opened up about the early days of dating her now-husband Wayne Rooney, revealing the story behind one of his tattoos.
ITV’s hit series returned this week with ten famous faces entering the Australian jungle. This year’s lineup includes the 38-year-old WAG, Strictly’s Oti Mabuse, Radio 1 presenter Dean McCullough, actor Alan Halsall and McFly singer Danny Jones.
As the stars have been settling in, they have had several heart-to-heart conversations. Former boxer Barry McGuigan has opened up about the tragic death of his daughter Danika and Coleen has delved into the infamous ‘WAGatha Christie’ dispute.
Coleen Rooney told her campmates about dating Wayne when they were teenagers

During tonight’s (November 19) episode, the campmates gathered as Coleen spoke about the early days of her romance with the former England and star.
Recalling the beginnings of their love story, she said: “I was still at school when he was playing for Everton. I used to walk out and all the girls were going, ‘Whose is that car there?’ And he was in a Bentley […] and there’s Wayne in the passenger seat with his arm out and one of the [other] players like Thomas Gravesen.”
Wayne made his professional debut at Everton when he was just 16 years old before joining , where he had a record-breaking career.
She continued the story: “I just used to get embarrassed” and clarified that the Bentley wasn’t Wayne’s car: “He just used to get a lift home.”

As the conversation carried on, the Scouser told her campmates about a permanent surprise she received from Wayne when the couple were teenagers.
She shared that one day Wayne’s cousin called her asking if she spells her name with one or two Ls. When she questioned why he needed to know that, he simply replied: “I’m just with our Wayne in town, he’s getting a tattoo.”
Following the call, Coleen recalled going to a friend’s 18th birthday party, where she saw Wayne showing everyone his arm.
She soon discovered:”He’d got my name tattooed on him! At 17!”
In the first episode of the series, the TV personality confessed that their relationship wasn’t love at first sight, admitting that her husband “fought” to get a date with her.
Speaking to her fellow contestants Oti Mabuse, GK Barry and Jane Moore, she said: “He fought to get me, yeah. I waited until I’d done my GCSEs and then I went on a date. I was pretty good at school.”
