presenter Patrick Christys managed to raise the whopping sum of just under £400,000 for elderly Brits – after complaining that too much government funding goes towards migrants.
The journalist took to social media with a request for funding after the current government to pensioners.
Now only those on pension credit will be able to access money for heating their houses.
A month ago Patrick asked followers for donations, saying: “Pensioners shouldn’t be at the back of the queue.
“We seem to have money to give away to everyone else, even people who’ve just arrived across the Channel!

“Over the next few weeks I’ll be fundraising for Friends of the Elderly. Let’s save some lives!”
Fans of the presenter flocked to his Just Giving page to contribute, and he has now received £327,070, which will be added to by gift aid.
Patrick plans to donate the proceeds to UK charity Friends of the Elderly, which aims to support older people experiencing financial difficulties.
The newsreader thanked followers for their support, saying: “Thanks to every single person who has donated to my fundraiser for Friends of the Elderly – nearly at £400k!!! (with gift aid).

Patrick recently announced that he would be to jet off on his honeymoon with his co-star and wife Emily Carver.
The pair tied the knot in June, but have only managed to take time off from work to celebrate their union by traveling now.
Many other Brits who are involved in politics have spoken out about Labour’s cuts as the UK faces a cold snap.
Dennis Reed, director of the Silver Voices campaign group, has said: “News that energy prices will drift up again in January is further proof of the folly of the Government in scrapping the for most pensioners.
“Older people just above the benefit eligibility limit are already at their wits’ end in balancing heating and food costs.
“The millions with chronic health conditions know they are potentially shortening their lives by not switching on their heating, but they have no choice.
“I have asked for an urgent face-to face meeting with the Department for Work and Pensions Secretary of State Liz Kendall to discuss emergency measures to save older lives this winter. Labour cannot just wash its hands of the crisis they have created.”
