Strictly Come Dancing star Wynne Evans in tears as emotions run high after BBC show exit

sensation Wynne Evans was visibly moved to tears during his poignant farewell on It Takes Two this evening.

The beloved Welsh opera singer, who had dazzled audiences with his performances alongside Katya Jones, faced the end of his journey after being eliminated from the One spectacle over the weekend.

The pair, who had quickly become fan favourites with their stunning displays, were sadly ousted on Sunday (November 17) following a dance-off at the iconic Blackpool Tower Ballroom against and Johannes Radebe.

Despite a valiant effort, all four judges decided to save Douglas and Radebe, signalling the conclusion of Wynne’s stint on the dance floor. The emotional aftermath unfolded on Monday (November 18) when Wynne and Katya joined It Takes Two, where emotions ran high.

Their interview took a heartfelt turn when , star of , unexpectedly dropped in to heap praise on his “best mate” Wynne, prompting the opera star to tear up. Jamie expressed his affection, saying: “Who’d have thought this man and me would become best mates?”

He continued, acknowledging the lasting bond they’ve formed: “It’s not going to be the same, but I’ve got a friend for life. He’s amazing this man.”

Katya chimed in with a touching sentiment about the essence of Strictly: “This is what Strictly is about, no one is going to remember the scores or the comments you got.”, reports .

She highlighted the enduring connections made on the show: “It’s the friendships they create on the show and genuine relationships. I’m so glad you had each other,” she remarked.

Overcome with emotion, host Fleur East offered Wynne tissues to dab away his tears.

During Sunday night’s results show (November 17), Wynne effusively praised his stint on Strictly, remarking: “It’s been wonderful, I’ve got to say. I feel like it’s what Strictly is all about.”

He continued with a message of encouragement, saying: “If I can come and do Strictly and last until week nine, then anybody can get out there and dance and have a brilliant time. Strictly is such a brilliant family, such a precious family, that I want everybody here in this room and at home to look after it for the generations to come because it is a wonderful, wonderful thing.”

It Takes Two airs Monday to Friday at 6:30pm on Two.
