British boxer has spoken about how much he got paid for appearing on – and it’s probably more than you’d expect.

Although reports suggest this is the largest amount a contestant has ever received, Amir was not far behind her.
During a chat with , the Olympic winner opened up about exactly how much dosh he got.
He told his interviewer: “When I went in there, I got paid $1million and that was a lot of money.

“It was an amazing experience and one of the best I ever had. I never knew what the show was until I went on and I was like ‘wow, I want to do that again’ and I did in South Africa.”
Amir went on to share that it gave viewers a whole new perception of him, adding: “It’s one of the best shows and it shows who you are.
“People got to know the real side of me and I’m a fun character, a very calm and chilled person and I’m just like everyone else.
“I gained a lot of new fans after the show because people saw the real Amir Khan, they didn’t see no Amir Khan at a press conference or when I had a fight coming up where you’re anxious to get into the ring and go to war. It was a great show for me.”

Amir participated in the 2017 season of I’m A Celeb, where he finished in fifth place.
Despite having a fairly successful run, he later admitted he was disappointed with his performance, saying: “I got scared last time and I want to go in again and come out as the main man – the champion.”
The pro sportsman went on to take part in the South African spin-off show in 2023, but sadly was voted off by his own campmates before he got very far into the competition.
Despite being forced to leave earlier than he would have hoped, Amir only has positive things to say about his time in South Africa’s Kruger National Park.
He told Ant and Dec: “I’m really happy, honestly I had such a great experience here – made new friends.
“I got three trials, did so well and won a lot of stars for the team. Last time I came on I was scared of snakes, scared of spiders.
“I’ve overcome these fears… It’s probably one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. Probably better than Australia.”
