Guenther Steiner has frustrated Mick Schumacher’s entourage
has revealed that he wanted to ‘kick Ralf Schumacher’s a**’ during the pair’s long-running feud over the treatment of his nephew, .
Steiner managed Schumacher during the German racer’s underwhelming two-year stay at the Haas but ultimately opted to replace him for the 2023 season, bringing back from the F1 wilderness.
The decision to bring Hulkenberg back ultimately proved to be an inspired one with the veteran German driver even being poached by Sauber for the 2025 campaign ahead of their Audi transition in 2026. However, it was Steiner’s continued public criticisms of Schumacher that frustrated the 25-year-old’s entourage.
After Steiner warned potential suitors Alpine and Sauber against signing Schumacher for the 2025 season, Ralf was furious. “RTL knows my opinion, and so does Mr Steiner,” he told F1-Insider. “There will be no more joint appearances on camera. In Bahrain, I was still able to put our dispute aside, but now that is no longer possible. I am consistent in that.”
This wasn’t where the feud between the pair started though. Steiner and the former Williams driver have been at one another’s throats since 2022 when the German racer repeatedly criticised the Haas team principal over his handling of his nephew, and the North Carolina-based outfit for whom he raced.

Ralf Schumacher has shared a public feud with Steiner since 2022
In his new book, Steiner explained how the duo eventually hashed out their differences. “It was around this time that my well-known war of words with Mick’s uncle Ralf started,” the former Haas chief wrote.
“You remember that? It’s got more headlines than some of the races back then. He and I have since buried the hatchet, but I don’t mind admitting that the timing of Ralf’s outbursts could not have been worse. It made what had started to become a difficult relationship even worse and helped to drive a wedge between myself and Mick.
More F1… [EXCLUSIVE] [STORY]
“With hindsight, as the principal of the team, I should have risen above this, but I did not. That is one of the many things I would change, as well as kicking Ralf’s a** down the paddock instead of just thinking about it! In 2022 I wanted his blood.”
Unfortunately for the latest member of the Schumacher family to make the jump into F1, Mick has been unable to find a way back onto the grid and recently missed out on a drive in the World Endurance Championship.
