Lady Louise’s favourite jewellery brand uses rare gold with another royal connection

’s favourite jewellery brand uses a rare gold that has been used in most royal wedding rings.

, who is in Scotland, is frequently seen wearing a necklace from brand Clogau.

The piece of jewellery, called Fairy Locket, was originally presented to Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, as a gift from Clogau in 2014.

It has been worn by her daughter Lady Louise Windsor on numerous occasions since, including at the Service of Thanksgiving for Prince Philip and a Christmas Day church service at Sandringham in 2022.

The necklace, worth £149, is believed to have been inspired by ancient Welsh fairytales.

It also has the same type of gold in it that is often used in royal wedding rings, including in Queen Elizabeth II’s ring.

According the gold in Lady Louise Windsor’s necklaces comes from the Clogau St David’s gold mine, which was first discovered in 1864 and quickly became the most productive and wealthiest of the north Welsh mines.

The Daily Mail reported that the managing director of Clogau said: “We were truly delighted to see Lady Louise wearing the Fairy Locket, and the fact that she’s been seen with it so often feels like a real nod of approval.

“It’s amazing to think that a piece we created resonates with her so much that she chooses to wear it again and again.
