Experts share ‘disgusting’ reason why you should ditch your socks before bed

Socks in bed seem like a genius way to keep your and yourself warm throughout the months, doesn’t it?

Rather than whacking the on full blast, you can just get yourself into some cozy pyjamas of your choice, and keep your socks on all night long, then put them in the wash tomorrow.

Well, experts have warned against it thanks to how ‘disgusting’ the levels of are when you keep your socks on all day and night.

On the @calmdownpod account, the hosts said that “researchers are urging people to stop wearing unclean socks to bed”.

This will make those who have bed socks only breathe a sigh of relief at least, because it doesn’t mean you have to be cold and uncomfortable throughout the winter.

NEVER WEAR SOCKS TO BED!!

The research found that “they often contain the same bacteria found in cockroaches and their faecal droppings”.

If that’s not enough to put you off wearing your worn socks in bed, we’re not sure what will be.

This “disgusting” news shocked the presenters of the show, and forced them to ask “Why are we wearing socks to bed?”

“Aren’t you getting too hot?”, one of them asked, saying that she didn’t “get it”.

Mattress Next Day did research and wrote: “Our analysis found that the same bacteria, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, was found on half the male and female socks, as well as the doormat, further highlighting how important it is to change your socks before going to bed as you don’t know what bacteria can be lurking on your socks after wearing them all day”.

In the comments, some defended sock wearers, writing: “ I’m shocked this many people are clueless to life in winter in a cold climate. Who DOESN’T wear socks to bed in winter in northern lattitudes?”

Another added that “no shoes in the house fixes all this”, as the bacteria from outside the house wouldn’t have a chance to take hold within the home.

“Clean socks are fine”, someone insisted, saying it was only dirty socks that should be avoided as they can spread bacteria.

One man said “feet need to breathe” when you’re in bed, but someone else pointed out: “Neuropathy in one’s feet can be a reason to wear socks to bed. The nerve damage causes a burning sensation.”

“Who the f**k wears dirty socks to bed?”, a user fumed.
