Céline Dion made a special appearance during “Sunday Night Football” ahead of the matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Dallas Cowboys.
Hours before kickoff, “Sunday Night Football” teased the music superstar’s upcoming appearance on the NBC program.
The official X account for “SNF” uploaded a video that showed Dion walking down a hallway as the intro to her hit ballad “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” played in the background. She stared into the camera and crossed her arms over her Steelers and Cowboys sweatshirt.
“It’s all coming back to Sunday night,” the cheeky caption said. Dion also shared the post on her social media pages.
At the start of the Sunday broadcast, Dion’s involvement in the broadcast was revealed.
Just before the delayed kickoff, Dion starred in a video addressed to football fans, featuring clips of the storied Steelers-Cowboys rivalry. While she narrated the segment, “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now” played in the background.
“I think my favorite thing about this game is its power to connect who we are to who we were,” she began as the clip cut to a close-up of her “Taking Chances” record.
The singer continued, “To prove that our most powerful memories, our most enduring loves, can stay with us forever.”
“You know what I’m talking about, right?” she asked viewers. “Some nights, it just all comes back.”
Dion’s video helped get NFL fans fired up for the Cowboys-Steelers showdown, which marks the first time the two teams will face each other in a primetime game since 1982. It is also the Cowboys and Steelers’ first NBC matchup since 1996.
“Like so many old flames, it always feels right when they’re back together. Don’t you think? Like tonight, evoking the kind of magic they once produced. The Cowboys and the Steelers, a timeless classic, on Sunday night,” Dion concluded.
At the end of the video, the icon took part in a football tradition and had Gatorade poured over her head. She celebrated and pumped her fist in the air.
Dion’s “SNF” appearance follows her performance this summer at the opening ceremony for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. She delivered a flawless rendition of Edith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower.
