Brits topped the Netflix charts after the streaming service’s most-viewed shows were made in the UK.
Brits flocked to for the first six months of the year and invaded the streaming service with four of their biggest shows trending around the globe coming from the U.K in the first half of 2024.
Over the past six months, an engagement report shared that customers have watched more than 94 billion hours on the platform. This increase was up slightly from 93 billion in the first six months of 2023.
Thanks to its broad variety and countless new movies and shows to watch also gives you the most bang for your buck. Its user-friendliness and diverse catalogue won the service an Editors’ Choice Award last year.
They were also awarded the accolade back in 2021 and 2022 and are no doubt hoping to scoop it this year. Meanwhile, the likes of Harlan Coben’s Fool Me Once and Richard Gadd’s Baby Reindeer secured rave reviews and kept viewers gripped with the twists and tales.
Four of the 10 biggest shows on this year were from a British cast. Fool Me Once took the top spot with 107.5 million views, followed by Baby Reindeer (87.6 million views), The Gentleman (75.9 million views) and One Day (39.5 million views).

Fool Me Once
Fool Me Once got the nation hooked after starring starring Michelle Keegan. The role even earned her a nomination at this year’s National Television Awards.
Earlier this month it was named as the streamer’s global most-watched series of 2024, clocking up more than 107 million views.
For anyone who is yet to see it, Michelle, 37, plays a newly single mother who is grieving her husband. But two weeks after his funeral, in the suspenseful thriller, she sees him appearing alive and well — on her nanny cam.
In a chat with the Radio Times, the show’s creator gushed over Michelle and said: “She’s really authentic. I think people can sense that she is a good person, a kind person, a talented person, a strong person, and she had an authenticity you just can’t fake.”

Baby Reindeer
Baby Reindeer got the nation talking, with even jumping , who claimed she was the person the show was based around.
Richard Gadd, 35, created the fictionalised show which was based on the true events that happened in his life. The comedian plays a version of himself and recounts his experience of being stalked by a middle-aged woman who he calls Martha.
It clocked up 84.5 million views – but It’s important to note that Fool Me Once did have a slight head start, with the eight-part series being released on 1st January 2024, while Baby Reindeer was released in April.
The Gentleman
Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen landed with a bang on . The series, is a spinoff of his 2019 film. It delivered almost 1.21 billion minutes of viewing time over its first four days.
He signed up a stellar cast which included the likes of Theo James, Kaya Scodelario, Daniel Ings, Joely Richardson, Giancarlo Esposito, Peter Serafinowicz, Ray Winston and Vinnie Jones. Meanwhile, has confirmed a sequel which will hopefully land in 2025.

Bridgerton
The third instalment of Shona Rhimes’ Bridgerton Season three was spotted trending around the globe. Season three follows Colin Bridgerton and his love affair with neighbour Penelope Featherington.
While also taking a close look at his sister Francesca Bridgerton’s romance, as she debuts in society and tries to engage in a relationship of her own.
The series notched a whopping 91.9 million views in less than two months following its May 14 premiere, with a brand new season to land in 2025.
