People have been hailing a woman’s easy and “awesome” to get rid of annoying clothes stains.

There’s nothing more frustrating when you go to pick out your favourite clothing item to wear and notice it has a bad stain on it. From food spillages, makeup stains, or general dirt marks, they can be a nightmare to get out of certain materials or light colours.

While there are plenty of stain removing products on the market, washing tablets are already an expensive affair so the last thing you want to be doing is forking out more than you need to.

One home hacks advisor has come up with a simple way to get rid of your stains with items you likely already have at home.

Leanne Neiland, who spends her time teaching people how to clean and organise their homes, says she is able to quickly get rid of makeup stains and sweat marks off her clothes in seconds.

The organised woman, who often shares her tips on her page , said she uses hairspray to get banish stains left behind from lipstick or face makeup.

She explained: “Hairspray can help remove makeup stains from clothing due to its solvent properties – ethanol, acetone, or glycerin – and ability to break down oils.”

The guru also advises pouring lemon juice onto your T-shirts or sports gear to get rid of “pesky yellowish” stains left behind from sweat. Leanne added: “Lemon juice can help remove pit stains due to its acidity.

“Lemon juice is acidic, with a pH level of around 2.0. This acidity helps break down and dissolve the alkaline compounds that cause pit stains.” Leanne noted that lemon juice should be used on white clothing, and not colours.

After spraying the clothing items with hairspray or lemon juice, Leanne says to leave it on to soak for around an hour. She then puts them straight into the and throws it on a regular cycle. The clothes come out looking brand new.

A number of people rushed to comment on the video hack, with many confirming that it works. “Wow, this is a lifesaver,” said one individual. “This is awesome,” added another.

“I’ve not tried but I think I might have to,” commented one other. “Great tips,” added one other user.

Commenting on the hairspray hack, a makeup lover wrote: “Oh my God, I didn’t know about the hairspray for makeup stains thank you.” While another said a different hair product works, adding: “I use dry shampoo on my grease stains and was amazed that it actually worked.”
