Emmerdale’s Belle ‘recruits’ villager to deliver final blow as she suffers downward spiral

Eden Taylor-Draper has warned fans that Belle Dingle may have tasked a fellow villager to help her kill her abusive husband.

Over the past 12 months, Tom King (played by James Chase) has been horrifically abusing his wife. Thankfully, the blonde bombshell finally ended her marriage to the twisted vet after months of debate.

But that didn’t put a stop to his violent outbursts, with things coming to a head last week attempted to kill her with an axe. Luckily, she managed to get the upper hand and wedged the weapon in his back – but that wasn’t enough to end him.

Now, Eden has teased that the blonde bombshell could be teaming up with another villager to finish the job. Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk at the Inside Soap Awards 2024, the 26-year-old has hinted at what her character’s future could look like.

She told us: “There is a part of me that would love for Cain to kill him but I think my main feeling is that I want Belle to regain some strength after this ordeal. There are so many options that could take and they’re all very interesting.”

The soap siren insisted that even if Tom pays for his crimes that the storyline won’t end there. She added that her character could still spiral out of control after she escapes his clutches.

Eden went on: “I think obviously she has psychosis schizophrenia so I think it’s important to address how something like this will affect it. And also, I think it’s important to show the aftermath of going through something like this and how to help Belle with the good days and bad days and all of it.

“So I think we won’t stop the storyline at the end of this and to follow it beyond that.” The award-winner later revealed how much support her emotional storyline has received from fans at home.

She gushed: “So many people have reached out and told me that after watching this storyline that they’ve left abusive relationships.

“During the episode of Belle’s worst nightmare, the number of people that reached out to the [domestic abuse] charity at the end of the episode was through the roof. So yeah, it means everything to me.”

Fans will have to stay tuned to see what will happen to Belle after Tom’s murderous rampage.

airs from Monday to Thursday on ITV1 from 7.30pm or catch up on ITVX.
