Ellie Heath: Titled in review form, hilariously, “So Much Ellieness I Heathed Myself,” this springy local singer-songwriter-comedian-blogger is playing with the appropriately named Her Band Friday.

In print so small at the bottom of her handbill ants could scarcely read it (if they could read), Heath notes, “Why wait for the reviews after the show’s over? Ellie brings the future to you, giving concertgoers a state of the unforgettable night ahead,” going on to promise music, fun, laughs, and long-lasting memories. OK!

Lindsay Walker and Alex Dawkins will also perform, and hyperbole aside, this really does look like a super night.

Sourced from trunks and branches in Mill Creek Ravine with a narrative soundscape where humans are on trial, the artist is specific and grateful about his optical harvests.

“We’ve been trained to see the self as central and superior,” says Martineau, an admitted human.

“When we see the ground, forest, water, air as separate from us, we don’t give a thought to ripping them up and lighting them on fire.

“We will burn our life support system and exterminate our evolutionary cousins in the name of our own survival, not realizing we are killing ourselves in the process.”

Pencils out: show opens Friday, with an in-person tour on Oct. 17, then an artist talk/reception on Oct. 24. 6-8 p.m.

Details: 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday through Nov. 16, Art Gallery of St. Albert (19 Perron St.), no charge

Dark: Back for its seventh year of making your wig pop off, Dark is back at Fort Edmonton Park, with gates opening 6:30 p.m. Friday.

With themed haunts like the playfully twisted Cursery Rhymes, rave-slasher Acid Trip, apocalyptic Undead Mile and unsettling 3 A.M., prepare for scare — maybe bring fresh underwear!
