Enter ‘s culinary sensation @chefthomson, who has discovered the secret to perfectly crispy bacon without being charred.

In his viral tip-sharing spree, he emphasised that the “most common mistake” lies in turning the heat up too high leading to “very dry and crusty” bacon.

The chef shared a video guide on making the “” which is surprisingly straightforward.

Start with a cold pan, then cover the inside the pan with water and apply moderate heat for about three minutes.

“After about three minutes, the water is going to come to a boil; that is a good sign,” the chef assured.

He explained: “You want this to simmer; if the bubbles get too big, just turn down the heat.”

Flipping the bacon is encouraged, and you’ll “end up with chewy, rich bacon. This is going to be some of the best bacon you’ll probably ever have”.

For those craving an extra crunch when biting into bacon, the chef advised prolonging the pan time.

One commentator on the social media platform said: “That’s the best bacon I’ve ever seen.”

However, another commentator voiced their preference for another cooking method. “Oven-based bacon is the way to go,” the sceptic stated.

Adding: “[Bacon] turns out perfectly every time [in the oven] at 350 for 14 to 16 minutes, depending on the oven.”

The chef responded: “Oven is good for a large batch. For a smaller portion, this method will be quicker and yield a better result.”
