David Walliams and Matt Lucas starred in the BBC sitcom show
David Walliams and Matt Lucas are reportedly planning a live comeback for their hit show Little Britain. The 53 year old TV star, who co-wrote and starred in the Three sketch show with Lucas, 50, from 2003 to 2006, revealed to The Daily Star that they’re keen to hit the road again.
However, there’s one “problem” – Lucas has lost about eight stone, so all the characters will look significantly slimmer.
Despite this, Walliams isn’t certain the show will make a return to television, stating: “When you talk to people in TV, they’re like ‘Well we’re not looking for that at the moment.'”
Previously, following allegations of racial stereotyping in 2020, Walliams has been vocal about his belief that comedy should not be censored and no gag should be off limits. He maintains that no topic should be taboo for jokes and nobody should dictate what can or cannot be laughed at.
Speaking to Australian newspaper The Age, he argued: “You end up with a list of things you can laugh at and things you can’t but who’s in charge of that list? “.
Speaking about the fine line comedians tread, one half of the duo commented: “When you see Ricky Gervais, Dave Chappelle or Chris Rock dealing with taboo stuff intelligently, it works. You can still get things wrong but often, the exciting stuff happens when you’re walking that tightrope,” reports .

Little Britain ran until 2006
The pair, who faced their share of backlash for ‘Come Fly With Me’, a mockumentary series extended their apologies in 2020 for some of the characters they had played in the show.
Criticism included the use of blackface and making jokes about transgender people.
Little Britain ran as a television series from 2003 until 2006. In 2020, removed both Little Britain and Come Fly With Me, whilst and BritBox also pulled Little Britain from their channels.
During the time, a spokesperson said: “Times have changed since Little Britain first aired so it is currently available on iPlayer.”
Little Britain has since been added back to iPlayer but with certain sketches removed from the show.
