BBC Breakfast’s Naga Munchetty cheekily called out her colleague live on air after he uttered the ‘C-word’. The presenter,49, and co-star , 62, made a return to our TV screens as he took on hosting duties for Friday’s episode of the morning news show.
During one segment the duo were joined by the ‘s finance expert Ben Boulos as they discussed the recent news that the price of first class stamps is set to increase by 30p on Monday.
Introducing the segment, Charlie went on to say: “We have Ben taking a look into this. I suppose buying now is one way to save.”
Ben explained: “That is one way to avoid the costs. It is becoming very expensive to send off cards and letters and some businesses are getting worried.”

He went on to reveal that this is the third time that prices have gone up since last October. Right now, a standard first class stamp will cost £1.35 but starting on Monday it will go up to £1.65, which is an increase of 22%.
Ben said: “If you’re quick, you can buy a sheet of 50 first class stamps that will be £15 cheaper than if you bought them on Monday. So if you’re planning to send lots of Christmas cards, stock up over the weekend.”
The finance guro added: “Will you be sending less Christmas cards because of the increase in cost or perhaps you’ve given up sending things by post?”
Naga quickly jumped in to question him bringing Christmas into the equation, saying: “So I can’t object to you saying the C-word now can I because it’s the fourth of October?”
BBC Breakfast Naga asked Ben why he’s never sent her a Christmas card
Ben jumped in and said: “Absolutely not, we are well on the run up to Christmas.” Naga said: “I think there is a joy in sending Christmas cards.”
“There is a joy in receiving them,” Ben replied. “But there is also a stress in sending them.” Turning to Naga he asked: “Do you get organised and get them all sent out? If you can do it in time to send them second class then it’s a great way to save money but for me you’ll be lucky if they arrive before the new year.”
Naga couldn’t help but point out: “I’ve never had a Christmas card from you.” Ben became flustered as he replied: “I’m so bad at sending them and getting organised so it doesn’t happen. You’re not the only one.”
Naga joked: “Try to change that will you.” Ben added: “I’ll try.”
