The ex-Feyenoord boss has enjoyed a close-to-perfect start as Reds manager, winning all but one of his first nine matches in charge.
Lost month’s 1-0 defeat at home to Nottingham Forest is the only blemish on his record so far, with supporters having quickly taken to their new manager.
During an interview with , Slot revealed some of the secrets that have helped make his transition from Feyenoord to manager seamless.
When quizzed on if he’s a member of the players’ Whatsapp group chat, a defiant Slot insisted: “I’m not in the Whatsapp group.
“I don’t think players like to be in a Whatsapp group with the manager. At least that was how I felt when I played.
“You don’t feel free to communicate. Sometimes you do text message a player or they text message me. But that’s not in a group, no.”
While commenting on whether he was coerced into doing any form of initiation upon his arrival in Merseyside, Slot once again kept things cool: “Maybe that’s different at every club, but I haven’t done this at all the clubs I’ve worked and I haven’t done it here.

Arne Slot has lost just one of his opening nine games in charge of Liverpool.
“Usually it’s about the players, sometimes they try and bring the managers into this as well, but at this club that didn’t happen.”
It’s clear Slot has opted to keep a degree of separation between himself and the players since taking charge, opting to keep the positive vibes from the Klopp-era rolling over into his own tenure.
But the Dutchman did reveal one important post-Klopp change he’s made at , revealing: “There was [already] a really good culture of players being on time, so I hate it if we have to talk about fines and these kinds of things for players being late. It’s normal that you’re on time.

“But that culture was already here, so maybe the only one – I’m not sure it’s a rule – but they used to go into hotels a lot the day before a game, and that’s what we’ve changed because I and my staff feel the best place to sleep is your own bed, so it gives you the best rest possible.”
He continued: “So it’s not really a rule, but that’s one of the few things we’ve changed. So before a home game the players are in their own house, their own bed, instead of being in a hotel. That’s not a rule, but it did change.”
Slot’s have the chance to extend their early lead at the top of the table this weekend when they take on Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon.
