Strictly Come Dancing pro Gorka Marquez finally addressed the PVC leather trousers that set the internet abuzz on Saturday night, revealing there was a wardrobe mishap involving them moments before he appeared on TV.
Appearing on Strictly It Takes Two on Thursday night (October 3), the dancer opened up about his wardrobe malfunction accompanied by his celebrity partner, Dr .
“They were very tight,” he shared, likening the trousers to the tightness of a “nail in a submarine” while conversing in Spanish with the show’s host, Janette Manrara.
While he seemed happy to move on with the conversation, Dr Krishan led him to confess about an off-camera moment involving the pants.
“He striggled to get them on and off, didn’t you,” she began.
“Yeah, I had to have talc… You know chafing? A lot of that,” Gorka replied, before quipping he was “like the guy in Friends” – a reference to the moment the character of Ross Geller (portrayed by David Schwimmer) wears leather trousers on an ill-fated date.
As the studio erupted into laughter, Dr Krishan further pushed her dance partner to open up.
“We were just about to go on for the announcement of couples, and he was like ‘What do I put on, do I put on powder, do I put on cream? Do i put on Sudocrem?’. I was like not now, Gorka.”
