Russian forces are targeting civilians in Kherson with deadly drone attacks, a new strategy locals refer to as a “human safari”.
Kherson is the capital of ‘s southern region on the Dnipro River and has been on or near the frontlines since almost the first day of ‘s full-scale invasion.
It was initially captured by Putin’s army in the early days of the war, before being liberated in the autumn of 2022.
The city and its residents have endured almost daily artillery barrages, which have indiscriminately targeted civilians.
On one day this month, fired as many as 32 shells at the city in a sustained attack.

However, Putin’s generals appear to be changing their tactics, as they attempt to spread even more terror among local inhabitants.
Russian drones are reported to be hunting down and chasing “everything that moves”, making moving around the city even more dangerous.
Serhii, a volunteer-turned-taxi driver told the : “Drones are now flying in groups and attacking everything that moves.
“Our charity hub had to close because trucks can no longer deliver humanitarian aid.

“This has not only cut off critical supplies but also crippled local businesses that rely on transportation.
“It’s scary to think what will happen in winter when food and fuel shortages could escalate into a full-blown crisis.”
Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, said drone attacks averaged 100 per day in July and August 2024.
However, since the onset of autumn, the numbers have spiked dramatically, causing further grief.
’s TSN news program reported that a record high of 330 drone strikes and 224 explosive drops hit the region on September 9 alone.
