New picture of Princess Kate released as she and Prince William hold special meeting

The Prince and Princess of Wales held a private meeting at Windsor Castle today with a 16-year-old budding photographer who is battling a very rare and aggressive form of cancer.

The meeting took place after conducted the investiture ceremony at the Berkshire residence today, with young Liz Hatton being invited to attend.

Liz is trying to take part in as many photography experiences as possible and was invited to Windsor Castle today by the heir to the throne to take photos of recipients and learn about the different pictures that are taken throughout the day.

Kensington Palace posted some of the photos Liz took on their social channels.

William found out about Liz through the London Air Ambulance Charity of which he is Patron of and following the investiture both The Prince and Princess of Wales met Liz privately with her family to hear about her day and journey.

Pictures of the private meeting have been shared by Kensington Palace, alongside a personal message from the royal couple.

It read: “A pleasure to meet with Liz at Windsor today. A talented young photographer whose creativity and strength has inspired us both. Thank you for sharing your photos and story with us. W&C.”

The first image is a group shot with Liz and her family, while the second is a sweet picture of Kate hugging the youngster.

Liz has responded to the post on her own account, and wrote: “Such a lovely, genuine and kind people, I’m over the moon that my family and I had this experience.”

The Princess, who has been seen only a handful of times this year as she’s battled with her own cancer diagnosis, looks well and is wearing a maroon suit with a beige top and her long hair down.
